Mountain View woman who was hit while trying to cross Rengstorff suffered "moderate" injuries.

Bay City News Service — A 77-year-old Mountain View woman suffered moderate injuries when she was struck by a vehicle Monday morning as she tried to cross Rengstorff Avenue, according to a police spokesman.

The woman was trying to cross the street around 6 a.m. when a car traveling north on Rengstorff struck her and drove away, police Sgt. Sean Thompson said.

She was taken to a hospital for treatment of moderate injuries, Thompson said.

According to witnesses, the car that hit her was a mid- to late-1990s silver-colored Honda that may have damage to its front side and may be missing a driver's side rear view mirror, Thompson said.
