Woman Killed in Central Expwy Collision Identified

The incident last Sunday claimed the life of a 23-year-old.

The identity of a San Jose woman killed in Mountain View in a vehicle accident Sunday morning has been released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Officer.

Bianca Monje, 23, died from her injuries when her Chevy sedan, which traveled eastbound on Central Expressway near Highway 85 swerved into the center median and collided with a large tree, according to the Mountain View Police Department.

Monje's vehicle caught fire. After the Mountain View Fire Department extinguished the fire, she was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was in the vehicle with her.

The primary collision factor has yet to be determined, but the MVPD believes speed was a factor in this collision.

The incident occurred at 12:21 a.m. on Sunday morning, Jan. 20. Police continue to seek witnesses to the crash. Anyone who saw the collision can call the Mountain View Police Department’s traffic unit at 650-903-6344.
