$4.8 Million in Federal Highway Funds Could Benefit Mountain View

Here's a snapshot of the 2012 Federal Highway Administration's discretionary grants that could help fund local roadway and railway projects.

Commuters will begin to notice more construction projects on local roadways due to new federal grants, U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood announced last Thursday.

A total of $363 million will be dispersed by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) in grants to all 50 states and Puerto Rico. California will receive $35.3 million.

Of that, a little more than $4.8 million could benefit Mountain View. The federal government hopes the funds will create jobs by expanding highway repairs and roadway safety.
