Updated: Thousands Without Power in Mountain View Monday

PG&E sent voicemail to thousands of households and businesses alerting of blackout Monday morning.

Hope you had a back-up alarm this morning.

Nearly 3,293 Pacific Gas and Electric customers in Mountain View awoke and couldn't make their morning cup of coffee due to a power outage that began at 5:54 a.m., according to a utility spokeswoman Nicole Liebelt.

The power outage was caused when a vehicle hit an electrical pole off Central Expressway.

Customers affected included some along California Street, University Avenue, College Street, Fair Oaks Street, Showers Drive and other nearby streets.

According to Liebelt, power was restored by 11:38 a.m.
