A magnitude 3.4 earthquake sent some rumbles in the South Bay Thursday night at 10:12 p.m.

The Calaveras Fault—a mostly right-lateral, strike-slip fault—rattled an area four miles east-south-east of the East Foothills of San Jose.

Despite the distance, at least 24 people in Mountain View left responses on the U.S. Geological Survey's 'Did You Feel It' section.

The quake's intensity was categorized as light and as being 6.6 kilometers deep, or about four miles.

The earthquaketrack.com website gave the temblor's location as being 14 kilometers, or about 8.5 miles east north-east of San Jose in the Mount Hamilton area.
