Down Power Line Caused Saturday Night Blackout, Says PG&E

The utility company confirmed that 3,200 customers lost power for more than an hour and more than 100 remained powerless until morning.

If you still had battery power on Saturday night in Mountain View, you may have seen the tweets.

"@mountainview_ca ugh to the power outage! What happened? @MountainViewPD @MtnViewPatch," asked jawsette, a resident near the intersection of Moffett Boulevard and E. Middlefield Road at about 10:39 p.m.

Mountain View Patch immediately contacted PG&E that night and spokesman J.D. Guidi confirmed that power went out to 3,200 customers at 10:11 p.m.

In another conversation on Sunday, he updated that power was restored at 11:38 p.m. to 3,070 customers. However, 120 customers remained without power until 8 a.m. and yet another ten customers didn't receive power until 10:40 a.m.

A down power line caused the outage, according to Guidi.
