Downtown Nightclubs Want More Time for Live Music

Late Sunday night music? The Zoning Administrator reviews requests from two nightclubs this Wednesday, Jan. 9 at 4 p.m. at City Hall.

Mountain View has become a nighttime destination for residents of the South Bay and business owners want to reap the benefits.

The city's zoning administrator will review requests for a six-month provisional use permit from both Zen Lounge's Sara Ziegler and Monte Carlo's Michael Savinovic for an additional 30 minutes—from 1 a.m. until 1:30 a.m.—for the playing of music Thursdays through Sundays. This is the second public hearing of the request.

Also on the agenda, is a request from Merlone Geier for a provisional use permit that would grant a restaurant in the new San Antonio Shopping Center the ability to sell beer, wine and liquor.
