Follow-Up: It was a Woody Woodpecker

The actual cause of the Internet outage at the City of Mountain on Oct. 9 was a woody woodpecker, which pecked into a telephone pole near Fire Station No. 4, according to city spokeswoman Kimberly Thomas.
She added that while the fiber wasn't exposed, "it was protected by a very thick, hard plastic casing that is used for these kind of aerial fiber splices."
