Free Food for Vets this Friday

As a way to thank military service men and women this Friday, Nov. 11, merchants in Mountain View and its surrounding invite them for free meals.

Millions of soldiers have served in the United States Armed Forces and once a year the nation stops and recognizes their services.

Veteran's Day marks the end of "the war to end all wars" or World War I on Nov. 11, 1918 and became an official legal holiday by Congress in 1938 and expanded by President Dwight Eisenhower in 1954 to include all veterans of wars.

In honor of the men and women who have served in the military, several stores in the South Bay and Peninsula will offer free meals and discounts for Veterans.
