Mitt Romney Is Coming to Redwood City

The presidential hopeful is asking for $1000+ per attendee.

Want to rub elbows with former Governor Mitt Romney as he campaigns for the Republican nomination? It'll cost you $1,000 to attend the reception at the March 26, reported the San Francisco Chronicle.

You’ll have the opportunity to talk politics with hostess and Republican candidate for the 2011 Gubernatorial race, Meg Whitman. Whitman also in Redwood City at during her campaign.

If mere attendance with these political powerhouses isn't enough, you can pay $2,500 for a photo opportunity with the neatly coiffed presidential candidate.

To achieve "event sponsor" or "co-chair" status, you must raise $10,000 and $25,000 respectively and not simply donate because the maximum contribution for individuals is $2,500 per election. Federal multi-candidate PACs may contribute $5,000 per election.

If Romney wins the nomination, he might find himself in the Bay Area more often. In 2011, President Barack Obama made several visits for political fundraisers, the last time in September arriving through Moffett Field. He also stopped by LinkedIn headquarters in Mountain View .
