Nov. 6 Election Final Tallies

Not much shift in Mountain View race results as the 200,000 vote-by-mail ballots and 35,000 provisional ballots cast across the county continue to be counted. The tallies will be certified Dec. 4.

The Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters completed its final vote tally of the Nov. 6 election shortly before Thanksgiving, counting the outstanding 200,000 vote-by-mail ballots and verifying about 35,000 provisional ballots cast.

Turnout for the general election was high. Of 817,837 voters in Santa Clara County, nearly 80 percent, or 653,237 came out to vote. In the case of some vote-by-mail precincts, turnout was in the 90 to 100 percent range.

And while the outcomes of local elections haven't changed, the numbers and the fractions of percentage points tightened up over the 15-day counting period. Because the county has a high number of vote-by-mail ballots, some candidates increased their total vote count by as much as 34 percent.

We've provided some select races below. An asterisk * indicates an incumbent candidate.

The figures are described at the "unofficial, semi-final election results," and the site is showing zero mail-in ballots to count and zero provisional ballots to verify.

The Registrar will certify the election results on Dec. 4.

We think it will be really fun and entertaining but also a great way to exercise without evenRead More realizing it's exercise! So glad you agree, Claudia! David Dworkin is terrific all around.

Thanks for the comment Murthy. I think there's only one Ram Saripalli in the area, but I don't wantRead More to assume. If I learn anything more, I'll post.

Mark, I will contact the SCC Coroner's office for information about his identity and then hopefullyRead More that can help us learn more about this man. I can only imagine how horrible this must have been.

My heart goes out to his family. I'm really saddened that the person who hit him is going to haveRead More to deal with guilty feelings/horrible memories from this, even though it was 0% his fault. If someone wants to take their own life, then that's terribly sad, but I think it's especially terrible to involve or potentially involve someone else in the process.

I'm not sure Gary. I'm not sure if your situation is specific to you or many other users since thisRead More is the first day of the redesign. I'll find out and get back to you.
