Sen. Joe Simitian's Last Day in Office is Friday

Simitian reflects in an interview Carl Guardino on his years in the state Legislature.

State Sen. Joe Simitian has served the last 12 years in the State Legislature. His last day as a Senator is Friday.

Here's an audio file of his reflections, as interviewed by Carl Guardino. 

His latest legislative accomplishments include creating transitional kindergarten, to help children succeed with age-appropriate learning, and a requirement to notify women after mammograms if they have dense breast tissue, and inform them that there are additional options for cancer detection with that condition.

Sen. Simitian was elected to the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors last June, representing the 5th District, so he will continue to represent the north county residents, this time in matters closer to home.
