Shoreline Community Transportation Update and Chick-fil-A Drive-Thru on City Agenda Tonight

The study session begins at 4:30 p.m. followed by regular session at 6:30 p.m.

A common thread runs through several of the issues on the agenda that the Mountain View City Council considers this Tuesday night.

Traffic mitigation in North Bayshore is—in part—what city staff will address at the 4:30 p.m. study session, where they will update councilmembers on the Shoreline Regional Park Community Transportation Study. Staff will provide more information to help the city consider how it can balance its legal obligations with the opportunity to use funds for others uses such has intermodal transportation.

As part of the study staff learned that 61 percent of employees in North Bayshore drive alone to work, 6 percent carpol, 25 percent take company shuttle buses and 7 percent walk or bike.

Another traffic concern for residents is the possibility of a drive-thru at the new Chick-fil-A on the former Sizzler site at 1962 W. El Camino Real. The case goes before the council after two residents appealed the Zoning Administrator's approval of a conditional use permit allowing the drive thru.
