At Castro Elementary, a Soccer Star Made the Earth Move

San Jose Earthquakes Defender Steven Beitashour encouraged students to live a healthy lifestyle.

How many can you juggle?

That's how the San Jose Earthquakes Steven Beitashour challenged students from Castro Elementary School today as part of the team's Amway Kicks for Kids program.

The second-year defender spoke to kids about healthy eating, fitness and even had kids move around as they competed with one another to see how many times they could juggle a soccer ball.

"Before every home game, the SJ Earthquakes set aside a day to come visit local schools," said Laura Webster, community relations manager for the team. "It's pretty simple but we thinks it's pretty impactful."
