9/11 Community Hearing on Muslim, Arab, South Asian, Sikh Concerns Ten Years Later

August 24, 2011 – A community hearing on the discriminatory impact of 9/11 on Muslims, Arabs, South Asians, and Sikhs in the San Francisco Bay Area will be held this Saturday in Mountain View.  Over 20 community members, advocates, and government officials are set to speak on discrimination against these communities post 9/11.

•  Who:  Congressman Michael Honda; Assembly Member Paul Fong; San Jose Council Member Ash Kalra; San Jose Police Chief Chris Moore; Commissioner Nitasha Sawhney; California Commission on Asian and Pacific Islander American Affairs; Amardeep Singh, Program Director, Sikh Coalition; Zahra Billoo, Executive Director, Council on American Islamic Relations – SFBA; Veena Dubal, Staff Attorney, Asian Law Caucus

•  When:  Saturday, August 27, 2011, 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.  (Press Conference begins at 12:30, Hearing starts at 1:00)

•   Where:  Mountain View Senior Center, 266 Escuela, Moutain View, CA.
