MVHS Student of the Month: Amy Johnson

A transfer student with a 5.0 grade point average, this honor student represents the school at ceremonies, finds time to volunteers to help the underserved and hopes to make the fashion industry more sustainable.

Congratulations to Mountain View High's March 2012 Student of the Month, Amy Johnson. The  designates this honor to a student from one or more of its high schools each month and provides the text of its nomination to Patch. Johnson will be honored at the Mar. 26 meeting of the Board of Trustees.

The Mountain View-Los Altos Union High School District is proud to present March’s student of the month, Amy Johnson.

Although she is a new student this year, a transfer from The Harker School, Amy has excelled at through her various activities and intense coursework.

One of her favorite activities this year was being a member of MVHS’s prestigious color guard and winter guard. In addition to twirling rifles and sabers, Amy volunteers at Sacred Heart community services.

She also excels in school where she maintains a perfect grade point average, a 5.0 GPA. Her favorite school memory was band camp this year where she met tons of new people and formed lasting friendships. Her favorite classes are Advance Placement (APP) US History and AP Spanish because they are interesting yet challenging.

Amy’s passions are design, community service, music, and photography. After high school, she hopes to attend an Ivy League institution on the East Coast, especially Yale or Columbia where she wants to major in environmental studies. With her environmental knowledge, she hopes to make the fashion industry more eco-friendly.

Those who have inspired her are her grandma and Audrey Hepburn. We are so glad Amy is at our school this year!
