New Principal Named at Huff School

School district officials moved fast to fill principal vacancy created by the departure of Sharon A. Burns.

Just a month after Principal Sharon A. Burns announced that she is leaving, Mountain View Whisman School District officials have named her replacement.

Taking over for the 2012-13 year will be Heidi Smith, a longtime educator from New York.

In announcing Smith’s selection, district officials noted Smith’s extensive background of literacy development, writing instruction and early enrichment opportunities focusing on students from kindergarten through 12th grade.
