UPDATE: Los Altos Patch will live blog the task force public input meeting. Check back here.

For the first time since they began meeting in December, members of the Superintendent's Task Force on Enrollment Growth will share their findings about the Los Altos School District Tuesday night.

The meeting will take place 6:30 p.m., in the Covington Multi-Purpose Room.

The 12-member community task force will share its approaches to its enrollment growth study, said School Superintendent Jeff Baier, and break into small groups with the public to get ideas and feedback to help it formulate its recommendations.

There will be an opportunity for comment and feedback on both the findings and approaches that were developed, Baier said.

The task force will review the input, look into suggestions and make adjustments to findings as needed, Baier said. There are about three meetings left. From the recommendations made to the school superintendent, Baier will make some to the board.

Los Altos School District educates public school children in most of Los Altos and portions of Los Altos Hills, Palo Alto and Mountain View.

The group, comprising representatives chosen by the Los Altos City Council, the Los Altos Hills Town Council, the school district, the district staff, Bullis Charter School, the Mountain View Chamber of Commerce and the city of Mountain View have met twice a month since December.

Besides Superintendent Baier and Assistant Superintendent for Business Randy Kenyon, the group includes: LASD: Nancy Gill, Liz Henry, Rachel Michelson (selected by the LASD board); Jeremy Minshull (superintendent's selection); Sandra McGonagle (Blach Intermediate School Principal); Superintendent Barry Groves (Mountain View-Los Altos Union High School District selection); Fred Gallagher (Bullis Charter School selection); Ken Rosenberg (Mountain View Chamber of Commerce selection); Steve Fick (Los Altos Chamber of Commerce selection); Duncan MacVicar (Los Altos City Council selection); John Swan (Los Altos Hills Town Council selection) and Jeff Fixler (Mountain View City Council selection).

MacVicar gave a small preview to the Los Altos City Council in his last monthly report to the council. Growth is, indeed, taking place, the group has concluded, and they have rejected the demographer's projections.

Apologies to Jeff Fixler, Mountain View's representative, who I left out of the task force list this morning. He was appointed by the City of Mountain View, through its Youth Services Committee.
