Whiz Kid: Anthony Biondi

Our latest 'Whiz Kid' runs his school recycling program, helps raise money for scholarships and gets great grades.

Whiz Kid’s Name: Anthony Biondi

Whiz Kid’s School: Los Altos High School

Whiz Kid’s Accomplishments: Anthony is serving in his fourth year on the Associated Student Body, where he is in charge of the school’s recycling program. Last year, his efforts helped raise $2,000 for Camp Everytown scholarships. However, that’s not where his school and community involvement end—Anthony is also a four-year member of the Robotics Team, and he has played varsity badminton for two years. All of this, and he still manages to work 25 hours per week at the Los Altos Hardware store; stay active in his youth group, Intersection; and make time for his favorite hobby, fly fishing.

Whiz Kid’s Key to Awesomeness: Anthony is an inspiration to all, as he has personally overcome challenges from dyslexia to excel in school. He takes advanced courses, such as honors physics, and earns excellent grades. All of this helped earn Anthony the honor of being named Mountain View-Los Altos Union High School District's Student of the Month this past December.

Anthony has his sights set on the environmental engineering program at Oregon State University, where he hopes to study new technologies that can make our planet a healthier place.
