Downtown Mountain View Goes Irish this Weekend with 'Silicon Valley Irish Fleadh'

Stephens Green, the Irish bar and restaurant on Castro Street in downtown Mountain View, is hosting a two-day "Silicon Valley Irish Fleadh" on Saturday and Sunday. 

This first Irish Fleadh -- the Gaelic word for festival -- promises to be a weekend long celebration of Irish culture and heritage, running 10 a.m to 6 p.m. on Hope Street.

On the menu: corned beef rolls, fish and chips, Shepherd’s Pie, Banger Royal, Celtic Rolls and more served all day at the food and beer village, catered by Irish local vendors.

Exhibitors will also showcase traditional Irish Arts and Crafts with world renowned Celtic jewelry and hand crafted stone. 

For the children at this family-friendly event, a kids’ fun zone will feature a bouncy castle, slides and face painters. 

Live Music Headliners 

Saturday's headliner is San Francisco’s The Shams. The band is a fan favorite, combining a hard rocking, punked-up beat, with masterful fiddle playing and the purest of vocals. 

On Sunday, it's Zoo Station. Billing itself as the complete U2 experience, the band has played over 450 shows and now flourishes a repertoire of more than 150 U2 songs.

The Fleadh offers an opportunity to win two roundtrip tickets from San Francisco to Dublin on airline, Aer Lingus, in exchange for donations to the charities fund.
