Mountain View-Palo Alto High Football Game

With the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League De Anza Division up for grabs, Friday's nights matchup between defending state champ Palo Alto and surprising Mountain View could go a long way in clearing up the title chase picture. 

Mountain View, now 5-2 overall and 3-1 in league play after an impressive 28-17 win over Homestead High-Cupertino last week, won't sneak up on Paly this week. 

First-year head coach Toure Carter has the Spartans tied for first place in league, while already holding wins over Milpitas and Homestead. 

Palo Alto suffered a narrow three-point defeat to bitter rival Los Gatos two weeks ago, 17-14. 

The Vikings took out their frustration on Saratoga the following week, blasting the Falcons 41-9. 

Kick-off between Mountain View and Paly is set for 7:30 p.m. Friday at Palo Alto High.
