Ex-LAHS Baseball Player Returns Home After 'Cheap Shot' and Threats

Austin O'Such, a 2010 graduate and Los Altos Hills resident, suspended after on-field incident on Mar. 29, 2012 in Prescott, AZ.

A former outfielder for the Eagles baseball team, recently suspended from college, has returned home after a controversial Youtube video surfaced and went viral of him running into another player after a game.

The 2010 graduate, Austin O'Such has received threats, according to the local ABC station in Prescott, AZ. In their interview with the Yavapai Community College Athletic Director, Scott Farnsworth said that O'Such felt remorseful and had a "lapse of judgment."

Farnsworth recommended that O'Such return home, which he did on Monday.

The incident took place at the end of a Mar. 29th baseball game where after leading 6-0, the Roughriders lost 9-8 to the Scottsdale Community College Artichokes.

The College and Athletic Departments released a statement on Saturday, Apr. 7 where they confirmed that O'Such had been "immediately suspended" from school and would be "suspended from play for the rest of the season."

However, according to local Arizona paper The Daily Courier's, O'Such was already serving a suspension for the game for an "on-field incident."

In 2010, O'Such received the Bob Baird Scholarship Award in 2010 for "his leadership skills on and off the field" the Los Altos Town Crier reported.

According to PointStreak.com, O'Such is from Los Altos Hills.
