Beyond the Blog: Learning how to Tweet

Trish Tsoiasue is a Patch Blogger from Long Beach, CA.  She is planning a trip to the Bay Area, so that she can find people who make things and places that they make things to feature on a Patch blog near her or near you, on her Squigglemom YouTube channel and on her reality show that she is getting ready to launch with Caprice Rothe (Hands of E.T.).

She is figuring out how to increase her internet reach so that she can get folks to like their Facebook page: WackyCapNTrish. Please like us and tell us if you want us to visit you on our trip!

Progress to Date
So... I know how to ask my Friends to like our Fan Page  (via Facebook and Email) and Random Strangers and internet Friends whose real names and faces I do not know (via Patch).

I know that my videos and posts have reached many, many people.  I can count them on my YouTube stats, and I've been told by Google that they have (the search engine).

But for the internet it's never enough.  There's always one more app to use, one more medium.  One more place to crosslink my message.  My message to you.

Learning How to Tweet
I've heard that I need to tweet my message to the world.  It's by no means new, but until you have a reason to do something... to get the word out about something... that twitter account will be opened, then sit unused.  Ooh.. you may have an idol or two to follow.

Mine did.  But now I have a message, and I must learn how to tweet.

So I looked up twitter on the search engine, and found a Wikipedia entry that introduced me to #hashtags.

Now I know that a #hashtag is a way to flag a term as a keyword for searching on Twitter, and in other places.  I've used #hashtags on Google+  and find #Hashtags are a bit wiry.  They worm their ways into everyday usage.

I'm still figuring out how to be @WackyCapNTrish on Twitter instead of my usual @HandmadePenguin... if you know, please tell me in the comments!  Can I be both and switch back and forth?

About the Car
Did I tell you that we want to take this trip in a #FusionEnergi?  It will go up to 620 miles on a single tank of car.  I want to do that... But first we have to win the car...
