CHAC Raises $7900 at Mountain View Art and Wine Festival

The local non-profit charges cars to park in downtown lots as one of its annual fundraisers.

Families around Mountain View continue receive help from the community—even during the busy Art and Wine Festival.

The Community Health Awareness Council—a nonprofit that provides mental health services to families in Mountain View, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills and Sunnyvale—raised $7,876 from charging $5 to each car who desired to park at the private parking lots near Castro Street like that at Kaiser Permanente or Bank of the West. In 2012 they raised $7,800.

Co-Chairs CHAC "Parking Lots" Fundraiser Bill Heinz and Monique Kane thanked their volunteers via email on Tuesday.

"Thank you so very much for volunteering for our CHAC Parking Lots fundraiser. It is heartwarming to see the community turn out in the numbers as you did to help our worthwhile cause. There were 115 of you at various posts plus 9 high school volunteers from Interact Club helping in multiple tasks. We could not have done it without each and every one of you!"
