Imagine Life Without the Community Service Agency

For their 9th annual gala and fundraiser, CSA hopes to fundraise enough to serve the 6,000 people per year they currently help.

Do you or someone you know ever suffered from poverty, hunger, homelessness?

It may not seem so obvious, but in cities like Mountain View, Los Altos and Los Altos Hills people live who do.

"We wish that poverty, hunger, homelessness, and aging issues weren’t with us, but they are and more and more people and families find themselves in need of our services," said Tom Myers, executive director of CSA.

According to the , there has been a 132 percent increase in the need for stable housing in the region over the past four years. In the same time period, CSA has helped 62.5 percent more senior citizens too. In 2010-11, CSA gave out 34,500 hot lunches to senior at the . In 2011, CSA helped more than 6,000 individuals.

For CSA to continue to provide services from eithertheir office at 204 Stielin Rd. or surrounding cities, they will host their 9th annual gala and fundraiser called "Imagine," on Sunday, June 10 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View. Tickets cost $115.00 and can be purchased online at www.csacares.org/gala2012. Enjoy food tasting from many of Silicon Valley’s top restaurants, beer and wine tasting, from the area’s best wineries and breweries, music, and both a silent and live auction.

"This fundraising event will benefit our programs and services for the low- income individuals and families, unemployed, homelessness, and elderly of Mountain View, Los Altos, and Los Altos Hills," Myers said.
