Week Ahead: Chamber Mixer, Watson and Education Fundraiser

Do you think you can outsmart IBM's Watson computer? You know, the one that appeared on Jeopardy! and beat both Brad Rutter and Ken Jennings?

Watson will be on display at the Computer History Museum (1401 N. Shoreline Blvd.) and made available to the public starting on Wednesday, June 12. The exhibit gives Museum visitors access to a unique photo opportunity in which they can pose as Jeopardy contestants with IBM’s Watson. Additionally, engaging graphics and a visitor kiosk inform and entertain visitors with facts about this remarkable computing system and its future potential.

Mingle with new and established members of the Chamber of Commerce Mountain View at Villa Siena (1855 Miramonte Ave) on Wednesday, June 12 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Cost $5 for members, $10 for non-members.

Celebrate Filipino Culture with Cheryl Burke this Thursday and Friday, June 13 and 14 at the Cheryl Burke Dance studio (1400 N. Shoreline Blvd). Cost varies.

And even though school's out for summer, it doesn't mean that education fundraising also takes a break.

On Saturday, June 15 the Mountain View Education Foundation, the Mountain View Los Altos Foundation and the Los Altos Foundation and The Counter Custom Built Burger restaurant will host an exclusive pre-opening fundraiser at lunch and dinner to support local schools. Reservations are required.
