East West Bookstore presents "Peace: A Buddhist Perspective" an opportunity to ask questions about traditional Tibetan Buddhist beliefs from six Venerable Monks from Namgyal Monastery, the main seat of His Holiness, the Dalai Lama. Donations suggested. Monday, July 1 at 7:30p.m. Come back on Wednesday, July 3 at 7:30 p.m. for the film "Forks Over Knives" which looks at how a meat-based diet could cause degenerative diseases. Stanford University’s Division of International, Comparative and Area Studies (ICA) Film Festival's first summer showcase is "Strike" (Germany/Poland, 2006) depicts a nearly illiterate woman who becomes one of the founders of Poland's Solidarity union. Wednesday, July 3 at 7 p.m. at Cubberley Auditorium, 485 Lasuen Mall, Stanford, CA 94305. Free and open to the public.

Every year Mountain View residents can get four free tickets to the City of Mountain View and Radio Disney's presentation of the Fourth of July Fireworks Extravaganza at Shoreline Amphitheatre.
