Week Ahead: Help Fight Cancer

Whether it's fundraising for a local non-profit, catching a play or participating in local government, here are Mountain View events meant to nourish your soul!

Monday, Sept. 9

  • Help raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at Tied House Monday from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. The event's hosted by the group "Our Girl Jen," in memory of Jennifer Juanes, the daughter of a City of Mountain View employee who died several years ago. Her mother Patty has continued, and encourages the community, to help her wipe out cancer.

Tuesday, Sept. 10

Mountain View's City Council returns after its summer recess with their first fall council session at 6:30 p.m. Here's the agenda.

Wednesday, Sept. 11

  • Do recipes confuse you? Learn the history of recipes in cooking, including how the structure of recipes has evolved from the 14th century to the present with author, historian and cook Peter Hertzmann at the Mountain View Public Library this Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
  • Mountain View's environmental Planning Commission will hold a study session about the San Antonio Precise Plan and will give background on information collected over the summer on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m.  in the Council Chambers at City Hall.

  • TheatreWork's presents "Other Desert Cities" by Jon Robin Baitz, a play about a novelist whose memoir causes political rifts. Starts Wednesday, Aug. 21 until Sept. 15 at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts. Cost between $25 and $52.
