Weekend Planner: Swap Your Crops and then Shred Your Docs

Activities in Mountain View during the weekend of Aug. 22 through Aug. 25.

Thursday, Aug. 22

Yipee—the young professionals group of the Chamber of Commerce—will partner with Scott's Seafood restaurant for a back-to-school school supplies drive to benefit the Community Services Agency from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 420 Castro St.

Friday, Aug. 23

It's women's night at Red Rock Coffee with Gaby Castro and Aprylle Gilbert. Shows start at 8 p.m. at 201 Castro St.

Saturday, Aug. 24

Do you have more kale in your backyard than you know what to do with? Stop by the Mountain View Public Library for the Crop Swap at 1 p.m. Bring your extra garden produce to the library to swap with you neighbors.

While not in Mountain View, the city reminds and encourages residents to stop by the SMaRT Station, 301 Carl Road, in Sunnyvale to shred their confidential or sensitive documents, tax returns, bank statements, or health records. From 8 a.m. to 12 noon.

TheatreWork's presents "Other Desert Cities" by Jon Robin Baitz, a play about a novelist whose memoir causes political rifts until Sept. 15 at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts. Cost between $25 and $52.
