Professional dancer Cheryl Burke is a two-time champion on the ABC hit TV show "Dancing with the Stars.' (DWTS). Known for showcasing her celebrities, rather than "over-dancing" them, she has a knack for building on her partners' strengths, using positive reinforcement to help them achieve their maximum potential.

Cheryl joined DWTS in the second season, winning back-to-back mirror ball trophies with partner Drew Lachey in Season 2, and then with Emmitt Smith in Season 3. She is the only professional dancer on the show who made the finals five times, most recently with Rob Kardashian.

In addition, she has participated multiple times in DWTS Tours in approximately 30 cities throughout the U.S. and Canada. Time and again, Cheryl has won over audiences with her creative choreography and effervescent personality.

Cheryl started ballet lessons at age 4 and was soon performing throughout her native Bay Area. "But at 11, I went to a competition and saw the costumes, heard the music, and loved that the dancers had partners," she explains. By the age of 13, Cheryl was traveling and competing throughout the world, later winning several prestigious championships.

Some of her triumphs include the 2005 Ohio Star Ball Rising Star Champion, 2005 San Francisco Open Latin Champion and 2005 World Cup Professional Rising Star Latin Champion. Burke clinched several UK Championship titles, and scored a fourth place showing in the U.S. "Under 21s" division.

She has performed and been interviewed on top-rated national television shows, including "Oprah Winfrey," "Larry King Live," "The View," "Good Morning America," "Ellen deGeneres," Rachael Ray," "Live with Regis and Kelly," and others. Cheryl serves as a celebrity spokesperson for several fitness-related products and programs, including Jazzercise, and last year authored an autobiography, "Dance Lessons."

In 2008 she co-founded Cheryl Burke Dance – ballroom studios currently operating in two California locations: Mountain View and Laguna Niguel.

The Mountain View facility is one of the largest ballroom dance studios in Northern California, with three separate dance floors inside a 14,000 square foot complex. Cheryl visits her studios throughout the year to teach workshops, conduct chat sessions with fans, and perform routines for special events. Her studio appearances are often related to fundraisers for nonprofit organizations or causes.

When she is not working 24/7 on DWTS, Cheryl keeps pace with a full schedule related to her dance studios and other business ventures, fundraisers for worthy causes, special events, and media appearances. Cheryl also starred in the San Francisco run of the internationally acclaimed stage hit "Forever Tango" from December of 2010 through January of 2011.
