Mountain View 'Cash Mob'

A "cash mob" is like "flash mob". However, its goal is to help boost the local economy.

This Saturday 3/24, Mountain View Cash Mob is organizing its inaugural event to coincide with the International Cash Mob Day, benefiting Ava's Downtown Market at 340 Castro St. Come join the fun in two ways:
1. Shop en-masse at 12:30pm and meet other like-minded people in the community
2. Shop any time that day to show your support
Then optionally, join an informal potluck at 1:30pm at Pioneer Park behind the library.

Note that the organizer is not affiliated with Ava's Downtown Market in any way, but picked the business because:

- its success means added convenience for Mountain View residents and character to our community
- it is struggling
- the owner works hard to carry quality, sustainable, and locally appropriate products
- this is a gender-neutral store with something for everyone

The organizer, Marn-Yee Lee, is a mom to a toddler and a resident of Mountain View. She used to be active in the community pre-baby. She is finally re-surfacing and looking to make a difference beyond the family circle. She strongly believes in "being the change you want to see in the world" and is an admirer of Gandhi.
