Highway 101 Jumper Identified

The Fremont resident died in Mountain View on Friday, May 17.

The Santa Clara County Coroner's Office has identified the man who jumped from a highway overpass in Mountain View on Friday.

Fremont resident Ram Saripalli, age 41, died from multiple blunt force injuries stated his death certificate, according to the Coroner's Office on Monday.

Several witnesses to his death, told Mountain View Patch that Saripalli "deliberately" jumped from the Highway 101 overpass at Rengstorff Avenue at around 10:46 a.m., on May 17th.

"My daughter and I saw the man climbing down the fence and deliberately drop himself down into the oncoming traffic!" said Mark Lewis. "It was a very gruesome thing to see."

An online search for more information on Saripalli yielded few concrete results.
